On this day 19th of February
in 1912 at around 3.30am Tom Crean completed a 35 mile solo march to
Hut Point, Antarctica, to save the lives of Edward Evans and William
Lashly. Both Crean and Lashly (Who stayed to look after Evans) were
awarded an Albert medal. Crean had walked for 18 hours with only a
bar of chocolate and three biscuits to sustain him. An inspiring
example of human endurance and perseverance. So in line with my
current project i did this little impulsive sketch as a tribute. To
Mr Tom Crean. (More work to come)
